National reach, local connections
Solving Australia’s housing crisis, including the creation of more social and affordable homes, will need everyone across industry and related sectors to work together.
At CHL, we are uniquely positioned and recognised for our national reach and local connections, scaling our impact through collaborative partnerships and delivering innovative housing solutions to individual communities and customers.
With more than 30 years’ experience, we work with government, communities and commercial partners to deliver more homes and create a real impact for those who need it the most.
The community housing industry is diverse
The community housing industry is diverse with each organisation bringing its own strengths to deliver more homes and services to people in need. Community housing providers (CHPs) are responsible for more than 120,000 homes across Australia and the number is growing. CHPs continue to reinvest in services and new supply, making sure affordable housing is available into the future.
CHL is a proud registered CHP and a member of Australian Community Housing (ACH), the national peak body representing not-for-profit CHPs across Australia.Â
Working with our partners to build stronger futures:
one home, one community, one future at a time.
Our mission is to design, develop and manage housing that supports people’s wellbeing and strengthens the fabric of our communities.
The collective expertise of our team means we have an extensive background in acting as a key connector, advisor and collaborator with governments, service providers, funders, developers and other stakeholders to enable more homes to be available for more Australians. We have established an expansive operational footprint supporting more communities and customers with their unique housing challenges.

Partnerships and investment:
A core capability and approach to scaling social and affordable housing
Our approach to scaling the delivery of affordable housing solutions is through partnership. Operating within a strong regulatory framework, CHPs provide confidence to partners while remaining anchored to purpose.
Funding and managing social and affordable homes involves a combination of project partnerships, financing arrangements and government funding.
We are the connector between government and our commercial partners, brokering the financing and delivery models we need to scale new supply, whilst safeguarding long-term affordability for the customers and communities we serve.
We thank all our community partners for the vital support and role they play.
Our government partners
We have more than 30 years’ experience developing and managing social housing in collaboration with governments at all levels nationwide. We are uniquely positioned to work with governments as a national development partner at scale, while also being a trusted local operator delivering services close to the community.
Our commercial partnerships
By combining government investment with private and philanthropic capital we can create innovative funding structures to achieve greater scale. We use commercial acumen and maximise value for money without compromising purpose – ensuring growth in housing delivery is always aligned with creating positive outcomes for people and communities.
Our community partners
There are many agencies, charities and community groups who provide vital support services to those most in need in our community, as well as opportunities for wellbeing, inclusion and social connection for our customers.
