CHL is recognised as a specialist in providing property and tenancy management for clients with high and complex needs with a capacity for managing housing under a wide range of programs including from inner urban to highly remote areas. It is also well established as an effective manager of remote Aboriginal housing in the East Kimberley, Kalgoorlie, Halls Creek and Exmouth region.
In addition to managing 17 communities in the East Kimberley, CHL has expanded into the Goldfields region with management of 7 remote aboriginal communities including 121 properties. The communities include Bondini, Katampul (Nambi Village), Mt Margaret, Mulga Queen, Ninga Mia, Tjuntjuntjara, Wongatha and Wonganarra
We operate from six offices in Perth, Geraldton, Exmouth, Kalgoorlie, Kununurra and Broome. Two of the remote Aboriginal communities under housing management – Kalumburu and Tjuntjuntjara – are among the most remote in Australia.

We provide long-term secure rental tenancies for people who pay subsidised market rate*. (Please refer to the CHL Rent Setting Policy for more information.)
As an alternative to private rental, our services ensure that people who have low incomes can find a dependable housing arrangement so their children can attend the local school, the parent or parents can maintain employment or study, and the family can generally have enough money to live on.
In addition to its social and affordable housing portfolios, CHL’s programs include supporting tenants with critical disability and support requirements including within the State’s Community Disability Housing Program (CDHP) and Individualised Community Living Strategy service model (ICLS).
CHL’s success in delivering sustainable and positive outcomes for it tenants and building stronger communities is only possible by working collaboratively with our many partner agencies.
CHL currently has over 20 formal partnerships in place in Western Australia. Our partnership agreements vary in type and nature but generally CHL provides or manages the housing in which the partner agency provides the support for varying client needs or programs.

Community housing includes social housing for households eligible for public housing, affordable housing for very low to moderate income households.
In Western Australia, CHL provides accommodation for singles, couples and families. The size and type of accommodation offered will depend on the type of housing available and on your housing needs. Applicants are selected from the joint waitlist managed by the WA Housing Authority.
