We provide services to people seeking housing assistance on the mid north coast, including access to temporary accommodation and a range of private rental assistance, such as providing long-term secure rental tenancies for people who pay subsidised market rate*. (Please refer to the CHL Rent Setting Policy for more information.)
As an alternative to private rental, our services ensure that people who have low incomes can find a dependable housing arrangement so their children can attend the local school, the parent or parents can maintain employment or study, and the family can generally have enough money to live on.
Currently, CHL NSW manages 2,862 properties with 34% of our tenants elderly, 20% of our tenants from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds and 34% of our tenants people with disability.
We serve customers from our offices in Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Coffs Harbour, Taree and Parramatta, as well as through outreach and community-based services. We also have specialist workers on staff so customers can choose to speak to a youth specialist or Aboriginal specialist.

Management of over 1,300 tenancies on the Mid North Coast transferred to CHL from the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) in November 2018. In addition, CHL is now responsible for responding to people seeking housing assistance with the region.
