CHL developed a 25 unit development at Blakes Crossing.
The $5.2 million Blakes Crossing development was made through the assistance of $2.4 million State Government grant from the Affordable Housing Innovations Fund and a Commonwealth Government grant of $1.6m under the National Partnerships Agreement on Social Housing.
This long term community resource for local families and individuals on moderate to low incomes allows tenants to live in a quality-built home for 60-75% of the market rent. The homes are leased out on a yearly lease however the tenants have the option to renew it. The properties, which have been designed by C4a Architects, allow maximum light, winter sun, and natural ventilation to minimize heating and cooling costs for those living in them.
The Blakes Crossing properties have been delivered on-budget and offer an affordable living for South Australians on low incomes.
