The Geraldton CHL Office has relocated to a new location at 2/11 Wiebbe Hayes Lane near the Marina.
CHL was originally established, in late 2010, with a client base of over 55’s property and since then has grown to include both social housing and NRAS housing.
In 2011 CHL had successfully tenanted twenty four affordable homes in Geraldton as part of the Nation Building Stimulus Program. This also included a six unit development all with two bedrooms and one bathroom, in the Western Australian coastal town of Dongara – 80km south of Geraldton.
The development was designed for tenants aged 55 years and older, and regardless of who you speak to in the complex, they all say the same thing: “the new apartments support a real sense of community, and the neighbours can be relied on to give a hand or check on them if somebody is not well, or are simply on-hand for a friendly hello and a quick chat,” says a resident.
“Further, pets being allowed in the complex has given the feel of a relaxed village lifestyle, supported by a not-for-profit landlord that is responsive to tenant requests in regard to any building or maintenance issues.”
“We provide a friendly service based around the RTA providing affordable housing to a wide range of clients, with varying needs. We work closely with support agencies enabling tenant’s independence and security”, says the Geraldton team.
The team comprises of two staff members who manage both tenancy and property maintenance for 48 properties.
