Mohammed Yarob Haddad, Coffs Harbour

CHL are excellent landlords, the rent is reasonable and (MY) family are in a safe home with excellent neighbours.

Coffs Harbour resident, Mohammed Yarob Haddad, fled his country with his wife and two daughters, arriving in Australia as a refugee in 2005. They applied to become Australian Citizens and in 2007, proudly achieved their goal.

The Haddad family has been living in a CHL property since 2009. Mohammed Yarob says that CHL are excellent landlords, the rent is reasonable and his family are in a safe home with excellent neighbours. As well as working as a teacher’s aide and an interpreter, Mohammed Yarob is involved in the Coffs Harbour Council’s Multicultural Reference Group. First joining as a member in 2008, this year Mohammed Yarob accepted the role of Chairperson to increase his responsibilities in the Group and to be a positive role model within the community.

Mohammed Yarob was featured in the March issue of the Coffs Coast Focus Magazine discussing the Multicultural Harmony Festival held each year in conjunction with Harmony Day on 21 March. He believes that by getting involved in these events, we can learn how all Australians from many diverse backgrounds belong to this country and how we can all help to enrich it.
