FIVE NEW DISABILITY HOMES COMPLETED IN VICTORIA

CHL COMPLETES FIVE NEW HOMES FOR THOSE WITH A DISABILITY IN VICTORIA

CHL has completed five homes for people with a disability under the ‘Heidelberg Key Ring Project’ in Victoria.There is a place for a community living worker or a sixth person with a disability.

CHL was approved for three capital funded projects to develop and manage accomodation for people living with severe disabilities under the Federal Government’s Supported Accomodation Innovation Fund  (SAIF). This key ring project is one of the three projects under SAIF.

All tenants are nominated and ongoing support is provided by Northern Support Services (NSS). The clients are referred to the program through other numerous agencies and services etc. The criteria for these tenants is that they have to be eligible for DHS Housing.

The clients that are referred have various social barriers, including homeless/housing, drug/alcohol, mental health issues, disabilities.

The other two projects are the Frankston Community Living Project and Whittington – Pathways to Community Program to be delivered in partnership with Frankston City Council and Common Equity Housing Ltd respectively.
