Leading social housing organisation, Community Housing Limited, has confirmed its place as one of the country’s fastest growing businesses after it was listed at No.71 in this year’s BRW Fast 100.
Founded in 1994 with a $63,000 grant, Community Housing Limited is experiencing strong growth in the number of properties and tenancies it manages in the social housing sector, with more than 750 houses in Victoria under management by the end of 2004, and growing at around 100 houses per year. This involves long term and crisis housing management.
CHL also launched a design and construction division, completing more than 25 affordable housing projects since 2002 with a value of more than $5.6 million. CHL employs more than 85 subcontractors for projects spread across eastern and western Victoria, including Melbourne.
“It’s encouraging to see a not-for-profit organisation match growth rates with some of the fastest growing businesses in the country. From my perspective, the growth we’re experiencing translates directly into benefitting the community,” says Managing Director, Steve Bevington.
According to BRW’s figures, Community Housing Limited’s revenues have grown an average 47% per year for the last three years.
